Today is the Day! .Vegas Domain is Now in General Availability

Today marks the official beginning of General Availability for the .vegas top-level domain (TLD). The domain is the first US city-specific domain extension, allowing users from around the world to connect to the excitement of Las Vegas, NV directly in their Web address. The journey from idea to launch has been a long process, with the help of domain registry Dot Vegas Inc.,  today it is a reality!

According to Dot Vegas Inc.’s Dusty Trevino, the idea for a domain specific to Las Vegas started more than 20 years ago. “The founders of Dot Vegas, Inc. cut their teeth in the industry back in the late 90’s running the Country Code TLD, .cc.  This experience got them involved with creating the .vegas TLD when ICANN made the announcement to open up the space in 2008.”
